Jax Basil Brown

I am drawn to rot, rupture, and renewal - honest instincts in a world organized around destruction and dominance.

Sometimes I imagine a strange underdog superhero: Rot Girl! Composting millennia of grief, shit, and systems of domination into something fertile again.

I hope my work offers you permission to unravel a little: to grieve, decay, evolve alongside an ailing world and trust breakdown as a form of becoming.

I am an artist, facilitator, speaker, writer and entrepreneur formerly known as Nutty Steph. A beach dweller & lover, I wildcraft street conversations, rivers’ edges, experiments, gatherings, occasional pesto.

My work turns on pacifism. Envisioning financial and social investments that give life and resist oppression, I am drawn to money and power - how they move, how they hide, and how they shape belonging, distance, safety, and consequence.
